Advisory service
Are you a recent convert to gardening? Have you got the gardening bug but you don’t know your shade lovers from your sun worshippers? There is so much to learn: when is the best time to sow, plant, and prune; what plants are best suited to different aspects of your garden; what is the best way to maintain your lawn?
As an RHS-qualified gardener brimming with enthusiasm and knowledge, you will find my advisory service a worthwhile supplement to other sources of garden education such as books, garden shows, and like-minded friends.

Design service
Would you like your garden to have more privacy? Do you have an awkward border where nothing seems to grow? Would you like to create a small adult haven to escape the family but you can’t decide where or how?
Rather than a full and expensive garden redesign, a soft landscaping design allows you to titivate aspects of your garden that frustrate you. With minimal disruption, requiring nominal cost but achieving maximum impact, my soft landscaping design service could be just the ticket.
Following a discussion of what you hope to achieve, about how you use your garden and what shapes and plants give you pleasure, I will draft a design to your satisfaction and leave you with two options: you can employ my services to implement the design or you can follow my plan and create your own paradise. Either way I am on hand to advise and assist you as little or as much as you require.
Tubs & containers
Paradise has never been defined by size so even a small courtyard can become a Babylonian wonder or provide a feast of flora for the family. Call on my skills to create dazzling displays in any season or to yield delicious home grown herbs and vegetables.
To help you make the most of your display throughout the season, I can advise you with a tub and container maintenance programme or if you would prefer, I will undertake their regular care on your behalf.
Lawn care
A well-maintained lawn provides the perfect canvas for showing off your plants and borders. Lawn care is not just about keeping the grass mown: a tended lawn is longer lasting, provides a safe play area, helps to absorb excess rainfall to avoid flooding and promotes a feeling of general wellbeing.
My lawn care programme involves the timely undertaking of scarification, aeration, the application of a top dressing, regular feeding and if necessary, the well-timed application of a herbicide to control any weeds. In addition, mowing with the appropriate seasonal frequency and the right equipment all ensures a lawn that turns your neighbours green with envy.
Hedge maintenance
Hedges provide a haven for wildlife, are a cheaper alternative to fencing and walls, make excellent wind breaks and create a long-lasting, natural backdrop to complement any garden.
Hedges can be formal, informal, deciduous or evergreen so depending on what you want to achieve with your hedge, I can advise you on the most appropriate species. If the idea of a hedge appeals but you aren’t sure of the best approach, contact me. Likewise, to keep an existing hedge in perfect condition ask about my hedge maintenance service: trimming, clearing and feeding are all undertaken using my own equipment to ensure a perfect outcome.
Border management
Regular loving care and attention will ensure your borders provide an optimum display throughout the season. Weeding, feeding, dead-heading, pruning, staking, planting and transplanting: I undertake as much or as little as you require using my own equipment and calling on knowledge and experience amassed over years.
